Product details
The Schefflera Actinophylla, commonly known as the Umbrella Tree, is a versatile and popular choice for both indoor and outdoor spaces. This elegant tree is characterized by its distinctive, glossy, umbrella-like leaves that radiate in a circle, creating a lush and tropical appearance. It can grow up to 15-20 feet outdoors, but when kept indoors, it usually maintains a manageable height of 6-8 feet, making it an ideal statement piece for homes and offices.
Air Purification: Schefflera Actinophylla is known for its ability to filter airborne toxins, improving indoor air quality. It absorbs pollutants like formaldehyde, benzene, and toluene, making your living space healthier.
Aesthetic Appeal: The tree's attractive foliage adds a vibrant touch to any environment. Its lush green leaves can create a calming and serene atmosphere, perfect for workspaces, living rooms, and patios.
Low Maintenance: This tree is incredibly resilient and adaptable, thriving in various light conditions, making it suitable for both seasoned gardeners and beginners.
Stress Reduction: Like many indoor plants, the presence of Schefflera Actinophylla can help reduce stress and promote a sense of well-being, contributing to a more relaxing environment.
Light: Schefflera Actinophylla prefers bright, indirect sunlight. However, it can also tolerate low light conditions, although its growth may slow down. When placed outdoors, choose a location with partial shade to protect the leaves from scorching.
Watering: Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly until the water drains out from the bottom, but avoid letting the tree sit in standing water, as it can lead to root rot.
Soil: A well-draining potting mix is essential. A mixture of peat moss, perlite, and vermiculite works well.
Temperature and Humidity: The ideal temperature range for Schefflera Actinophylla is between 15-30°C. It prefers moderate humidity levels, so occasional misting can help in drier climates.
Fertilization: Feed the tree with a balanced liquid fertilizer every month during the growing season (spring and summer) to encourage healthy growth.
Leaf Drop: This can occur due to overwatering, underwatering, or sudden changes in light conditions. Ensure consistent watering practices and avoid moving the tree abruptly to different lighting environments.
Yellowing Leaves: Often a sign of overwatering or poor drainage. Adjust your watering schedule and check that the soil drains well.
Pests: Schefflera Actinophylla can sometimes attract spider mites, aphids, or scale insects. Regularly inspect the foliage and treat infestations with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
Leggy Growth: Insufficient light can cause the tree to become leggy and weak. Move it to a brighter spot with more indirect sunlight.
